Must Haves

It just makes us cry when we read that a chinchilla is in trouble and the parent doesn't have these on hand and is scrambling to find it, or even worse, it's night time and they have to wait 12 hours before anything opens... we just can NOT stress enough how important it is to have these first items on hand at all times!

"Better to have, and not need, than to need, and not have."
- Franz Kafka

Critical Care

Critical Care (CC) is created by Oxbow to give your chinchilla a boost! It's high in fiber, full of vitamins and calories. You will want to mix with some bottled/filtered water (less water to feed from a spoon or small dish, more water to feed with a syringe). Any sick or recovering chinchilla should be fed CC. It can also help bulk-up chin poop. The general rule of thumb is 10ml/cc 2-3 times a day. You want to feed however much they will eat (without making little softballs out of them).

Infant Gas Drops

Chinchillas are unable to pass gas on their own. Use these anytime you notice their poops looking abnormal or if they have been in adverse conditions as described above. It's a good idea to give downward belly massages with the use of this, helping your chin to help break up any gas. Dosage: 0.3ml (about half of the included dropper) every 8-12 hours.

Probiotics

Contains live, naturally occurring microorganisms. A concentrated live culture of seven common microorganisms found in the intestinal tracts of mammals. A guaranteed 20 million colony forming units (CFU) per gram of viable lactic acid microorganisms. Help for animals under adverse conditions such as: birth, post surgery, antibiotic therapy, weaning, worming, traveling. Dosage: pea-sized dollap twice a day. If given while on antibiotics, should be given an hour before or 2 hours after the antibiotic.

12ml Curved Tip Syringe

Used for feeding critical care or giving water or irrigating wounds.

Glass Dropper

Used for giving medications.
