Plastic is Bad News |

We hear it all the time... "My chinchilla doesn't chew on plastic so it's ok that there is plastic in his cage." When ingested, plastic can rip through the intestinal wall, cause obstructions and endanger the life of your chinchilla. While we suggest you cover any plastic in fleece, it should be monitored. Some chinchillas will chew through fleece to get to the plastic and, if that happens, it needs to be removed and an alternate should be found. The first 2 images were both done in one night after many months (18 for the tunnel) of being in their cage without being touched.    |
